Sail St Andrews is headquartered and operated in St Andrews By-the-Sea, New Brunswick. St Andrews is Canada's oldest seaside resort and sits on Passamaquoddy Bay at the mouth of the Bay of Fundy and the Gulf of Maine.
In early 2011 we were incorporated as a non profit organization with an elected volunteer Board of Directors and volunteer legal advisor. Sail St Andrews has been created to introduce youngsters to the excitement of sailing. Enthusiastic support was immediate from fishermen, local businesses and yacht club members.
We accept students aged 10 years and up. Our students will come from St Andrews and other local communities. As well as proficiency in sailing, acquiring marine knowledge and leadership skills, all students in the program will be taught boat maintenance and repair. This will minimize maintenance expense while encouraging responsibility.
Sail St Andrews Inc. (est. 2011) is an independent local organization. We are not related to any provincial or national group.
The mission of Sail St Andrews is to provide young people in the community with a safe, enjoyable, environment in which to gain proficiency in the art of sailing, marine knowledge and leadership.

We received immediate enthusiastic support from fishermen, local businesses, non profit organizations, yacht club members and the general public. Once we determined that Mirror Dinghies would be the best option for training purposes, several private citizens offered loans or outright gifts of boats. Their generosity is recognized and greatly appreciated.

In addition to this financial support, many individuals and businesses have been most generous in various ways. Some of this help came as donations of materials or equipment, equipment loans, expert advice, storage space, sailing instruction, and administration. The list continues to grow. Here is our attempt to acknowledge those who have helped make this sailing program possible. Careful effort is being taken to ensure that all support is acknowledged. Please contact us if you notice any errors or omissions and we'll resolve issues as quickly as possible.
